Four sophomore BFA lighting design students were tasked to "make something". At the time, growth seemed to be an appropriate theme for these four; students constantly undergo growth during their education, BU was building a new theatre, and the department was growing. A studio space was converted into an immersive atmosphere in which an audience watched a central column undergo growth and change over time.
The lighting was cued to a piece of environmental music and presented to small audiences during the school's Works in Progress event, a showcase of student work at the end of the fall semester.
